my grandad alan gibson was born on december 26th 1930 and died on august 9th 1999 aged 69 he died of asbestosis and was unwell for a few years and eventually he went into hospitial where he died. he left his loving wife my grandma kathleen 3 kids my mam ann my uncle david and my auntie margaret also 4 grandkids me michael john and sarah and a year after he died oliva was born who would have been his 5th granchild. and he would have adored and doted on her as much as he did all of us. he had 2 sisters and 1 brother. and he had lots of neices and nephews who he loved like his own. he was funny kind and always joking he cared for everyone around him his friends and us his family miss him dearly.

What is Dying?
A ship sails and I stand watching till she fades on the horizon and someone at my side says 'She is gone'.
Gone where? Gone from my sight, that is all. She is just as large now as when I last saw her. Her diminished size and total loss from my sight is in me, not in her.
And just at the moment when someone at my side says she is gone there are others who are watching her coming over their horizon and other voices take up a glad shout 'There she comes!'
That is what dying is. An horizon and just the limit of our sight.
Lift us up, Oh Lord, that we may see further.
